With every big change in your life, chances are, you’ll gain a few pounds… Hence the Freshman Fifteen. Have you ever noticed that when you start a new relationship, you might start tacking on the pounds? You’re not adding those LBS just because all of a sudden you are ‘comfortable’ in your relationship. Researchers say in the first year of a relationship, ladies gain an average of 7 pounds while men LOSE 4 pounds. What the WHAT?!

Here’s where researchers think the problem lies: as you start going out to eat more and you and your new partner eat more meals together, you adjust your portion sizes. And get this, women start eating MORE than they normally do while men start eating LESS than they usually do.

No matter what the reasons are, no matter how much weight you’ve gained, you can turn it all around. I'm in a new relationship myself, so I know it's a struggle. When we go out to eat, I have to make myself be aware of how much I'm eating. I normally skip desert when I'm by myself, but when my guy orders it, it's hard not to take a few bites or eat the entire thing. Luckily, I found the personal training team at Lefler Sport Strength. Trust me, they can whip you (or you and your love bug) back in shape.

On top of that (and just as important), get your diet under control. Whether that means making sure you have quick meals to eat on the go (energy bars and protein shakes) or supplements to amp up your diet and fitness routine, the new owners at Max Muscle (located across from Lowe’s on Reserve Street) will make sure you have what you need to be successful in your healthy endeavor.
