At around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, someone called Missoula police. The complainant said a woman was sitting in a vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, the complainant advised the description of the vehicle.

“Officers responded to the 3200 block of Stephens Avenue where the vehicle had been reported leaving this parking lot and traveling on Stephens Avenue,” Welsh said. “An officer observed the vehicle, made a stop in virtually the same location, and identified 32-year-old Scarlett James as the driver. It was discovered that James had a suspended or revoked drivers license and she also had a warrant out for her arrest. She was subsequently arrested for DUI.”

James is currently being held for felony DUI because this was her fourth or subsequent offense. Law enforcement is very appreciative when folks say something when they see something. They say it could potentially save a life.
