Missoula Crime Report – Violence, Theft and DUI Dominate This Week

The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 15 new criminal complaints this week. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst gives us the report.

“Four of those fall into the violent crime category,” Pabst said. “One was a sexual assault against a child. There was an inmate attack involving one inmate harming another and then making threats. There were two strangulation cases that go into the family violence category.”

There were three criminal endangerment cases, but Pabst says they were all quite different.

“The first involved a defendant allegedly shooting a .22 toward a family member,” Pabst said. “Another involved family members in which the defendant allegedly drove his truck into his brother’s vehicle, ramming it into the apartment. The third involved a head on crash that allegedly also involved copious amounts of alcohol.”

According to Pabst, they also charged four theft cases.

“One involved a vehicle that was stolen out of California,” Pabst said. “Another involved theft of a bike. The defendant was in possession of a stolen bike and then had drugs on board. The third was unauthorized use of a vehicle and a theft. The final one involved theft from an employer. Three or four packs of cigarettes were stolen.”

In addition, Pabst says her office charged six endangerment crimes. There were two felony DUIs and a DUI second offense that involved assault on a peace officer.
