At around 4:45 Sunday afternoon, Missoula police received a complaint that a male went to his ex-wife’s residence in the 1900 block of Dixon Street and took her vehicle. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“Shortly after that, as the officers were attempting to locate him, they were advised of a traffic complaint in an adjacent parking lot,” Welsh said. “The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and slamming on the brakes. The officers responded to that location, but the vehicle and driver were gone by that time.”

According to Welsh, the officers determined that the vehicle involved in the traffic complaint matched the description of the original complaint.

“They returned to that address and found the vehicle there,” Welsh said. “They also found the apparent driver who was identified as 39-year-old Devin Seeger. Seeger was attempting to kick in the backdoor of the residence. The man was taken into custody for the offense of DUI. The officers also discovered that there was damage to the door after the man had been kicking it.”

Seeger was arrested for criminal mischief and felony DUI, because this was his fourth or subsequent offense. He was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center.
