This is a bit last minute when it comes to a heads-up but we have to spread the love for Hellgate Roller Derby whenever we get the chance! We usually team up with them for the University of Montana Homecoming Parade but how crazy is it that we haven't had the parade since 2019?

Hellgate Roller Derby will once again be holding their Bruised Baggers fundraiser on Saturday (10/30). The name alone might be enough to scare you if you didn't have any other details. But don't worry, it sounds a lot more painful than it actually is. During the event, HRD skaters will be bagging groceries and delivering them to your vehicle at Orange Street Food Farm from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Members of Hellgate Roller Derby have to foot the bill and pay all their own expenses that come with being a member of the organization. That can get a bit spendy when you start thinking about the equipment needed to play as well as the travel that's included for bouts that don't take place in Missoula. The Bruised Baggers fundraiser helps to allow members to join the team and makes it possible for games to be played in Missoula.

Hellgate Roller Derby Inc. (HRD) is a self-run, non-profit organization designed exclusively for the purpose of promoting the sport of flat track roller derby in Missoula, Montana and the surrounding communities. The members of HRD are strong, self-motivated athletes who train to the fullest of their individual abilities, respect their teammates and competitors, and love the sport of roller derby. Our goal is to promote strength and self-esteem and to encourage camaraderie and teamwork among all members.

Be sure to tip the members of Hellgate Roller Derby as they're hauling around your purchases. And while you're thinking about how much you're going to tip, just remember how awesome it is that they're doing it on rollerskates!

Looking ahead, HRD will be putting on a Holiday Craft Show on  December 18. It might be a perfect way to grab a couple of last-minute holiday gifts for some of the names on your list this year!
