It's not many mid-sized cities that have some sort of festival every month of the year, but Missoula loves events and festivals, and there is literally one if not several festivals happening in Missoula at any time of the year. Snowglo Winter Festival - This festival is a dedicated fundraiser for Missoula's unhoused population.

February Festivals in Missoula

Winter BrewFest - The festival to get you through winter, Winter BrewFest is held at Caras Park and features Montana-made alcohols from beer and cider to seltzer and wine.

March Festivals in Missoula

Backcountry Brewfest - The Backcountry Brewfest for hunters and anglers happened on St. Patrick's Day in 2023, though in 2022, this event took place in May. No word yet on when it will take place in 2024.

April Festivals in Missoula

420 Block Party - Located in Caras Park in 2023, the 420 Block Party will be in its fourth year in 2024.

May Festivals in Missoula

Garden City Brewfest - Considered "Montana's Original BrewFest," and according to a release from the Missoula Downtown Association, was created in 1992 by Bayern Brewing, the Rhinoceros, the Iron Horse and Woden's Market.

Food Truck Festival for Cancer Support Montana - A tasty fundraiser for Cancer Support Montana, this Food Truck Festival takes place in Ogren Park.

Maggotfest - The Missoula party that brings people from around the world, Maggotfest will be in it's 47th year in 2024 and will be held the weekend of May 18-19.

June Festivals in Missoula

Greek Festival - This festival, hosted by the parishioners of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Missoula, features authentic Greek food, music, and more.

July Festivals in Missoula

Old Fashioned 4th of July - While technically this one might be considered an event, there are so many activities and it lasts all day at The Historial Museum at Fort Missoula, it seems worthy of being included in a list of Missoula festivals.

International Choral Festival - The world-renowned festival happens every three years in Missoula. The 2023 Festival featured choirs from Costa Rica, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Catalonia, Taiwan, Uganda, and the United States.

Northwest Margarita Fest - This festival is "a vibrant celebration fo agave, spirits, tequila, and mezcal" according to the event's website. As with many festivals, this one takes place in Caras Park and includes games and food.

Missoula Funk Festival - Silver Park is host to this event that will celebrate its fourth festival in 2024. The festival features live, local music, food trucks, beverages, games, and more.

August Festivals in Missoula

Hip Strip Block Party - This festival celebrates one of Missoula's most famous streets and in 2023 also celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.

River City Roots Fest - Missoula's music festival, in its 17th year, the River City Roots Festival celebrates music and all that is Missoula.

Totfest - A musician requested a good tater tot casserole recipe, fell asleep, and woke up to 100s of comments on his social media account. Thus, Totfest was created, a festival dedicated to rock, metal, and tater tots. Bonus, the fest is for a good cause, too.

Montana Herbal Festival - A new festival to Missoula, this event at the Missoula Public Library features workshops, classes, and herb walks.

Griz in the Park - Formerly known as the Great Griz Encounter, this is Missoula's chance to meet and support their favorite Griz athletes and fall sports programs.

Pet Fest - This is an annual event dedicated to pet adoption and pet services in western Montana that takes place in Caras Park.

September Festivals in Missoula

Fáilte Montana Irish Festival - Friends of Irish Studies In the West host an annual Irish Festival that will be in September 2023, which is a change from years past. The festival will include Irish activities like dancing and hurlers, as well as vendors and music.

Montana Book Festival - Authors from all over the region will descend on Missoula for this literary festival that's in its third decade.

Montana Brewers Fall Rendezvous - This festival celebrates brewers from across the state in an event right here in Missoula and offers unlimited samples of craft beer.

October Festivals in Missoula

Fall Harvest Festival - Hosted by The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, the family-oriented festival features fall activities including cider making with an old-fashioned apple press.

Missoula German Fest - Did you know this festival is in celebration of a "pledge of friendship" Missoula shares with Neckargemünd, Germany? You can expect all things German--food, beer, music, and even information about Missoula's sister city.

November Festivals in Missoula

Missoula's Festival of the Dead - In the past, Missoula hosted "An Annual, all-inclusive multicultural event that honors life and death through community involvement in the arts," according to Destination Missoula. In 2022, the Festival of Remembrance wasn't held due to time and funding constraints but the festival will return in 2023.

December Festivals in Missoula

Parade of Lights - It's actually a Reverse Parade, where Missoulians stroll Higgins Avenue and enjoy holiday booths and lights.

Missoula on Main (formerly First Night) - This festival might be one of Missoula's biggest and longest-running festivals, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023 and offering free events all over downtown on New Year's Eve.
