The holidays often bring out the best and most generous sides of people, and nowhere is that more evident than with this story about MCT.

MCT - which comprises of the Missoula Children's Theatre and the Missoula Community Theatre - set a holiday fundraising goal for themselves of $50,000. They were calling it "50K for 50 Years," and it was meant to celebrate MCT's 50th anniversary.

Now $50,000 is a steep goal, but it turns out, Missoula was up to the challenge. Thanks to the people of the community, MCT was able to raise a grand total of $57,867 and 43 cents. And if that was the end of the story, that'd be great - who could ask for more than that?

But Wait - There's More!

Thanks to the generosity of Craig and Ellen Langel, you can actually double that number. The Langels originally were planning to match every donation up to $50,000, but the outpouring of support from the rest of the Missoula community inspired them to make it a true match. Which means MCT officially raised $115,734 and 86 cents with its holiday fundraising!

MCT made the announcement of how much they raised over the holidays via a press release, and I'm sure they have big plans for the money - they're already looking at visiting nearly 350 different locations across North America by May 2022.

If you want to learn more about what MCT has got up their sleeve for the rest of the season, you can visit them over at their website. The Missoula Community Theatre is currently doing a run of performances of Gilligan's Island: The Musical.
