BEER!

Now that I've got your attention, yes, we're talking about beer. And food. Has there ever been a better combo? If there has been, I don't know what it is.

Before the pandemic, I used to go to restaurants and bars pretty frequently - since March, I can probably count on two hands the number of times I've been out to eat or have a drink. And that means I haven't really had the chance to check out some of the new places that have popped up around town over the last few months.

Pangea Bar and Restaurant, which opened up in downtown Missoula earlier this year, is holding a Winter Beer Dinner on Wednesday, December 30th, featuring a full, five course German-themed dinner paired with five beers from one of Missoula's favorite breweries, Bayern Brewing.

Sounds good, right? It'll sound even better once you take a look at the menu. Here's what they'll be serving:

Course #1
Wurstchen im Schlafrosk. Pigs in a blanket, German kielbasa, puff pastry, Bavarian mustard
Pilsener

Course #2
Groomer Beer Cheese Soup Lifeline Farms Cheddar, stache pretzel
St. Wilbur Hefeweizen

Course #3
Das Schnitzel. veal cutlet, hunters sauce, potato fritter.
Unfiltered Amber

Course #4
Beef Rouladen. with Camembert Cheese, Caramelized Onions, smoked bacon, mustard sauce, gherkins, brussel sprouts.
Schwarzbier

Dessert -
Apple Strudel, Bavarian Cream
Bayern Dopplebock aged in Buffalo Trace Barrel

I'm getting hungry just looking at it. If you want to get in on this, tickets cost $75 (not including the tip) and you can get them at Pangea's website right here.
