Where Do You Get Yours? Three Places in Missoula to Get Pumpkins

Do we all agree that the three big things you need for Halloween are pumpkins, candy, and costumes? My wife would make the argument that decorations would be mandatory as well. She was heading to the store for "a few items" yesterday and somehow that ended up including a 5-foot inflatable for the front yard! And with kids at home, there's no peace to be found from the "when can we get costumes?" questions. So it goes without saying that we're all good there with costumes ready to roll. Next on our list is to stab some gourds and put them on display for the neighborhood to see.

Pumpkins, get your pumpkins here!

I was walking into the grocery store over the weekend and saw piles of pumpkins for sale outside of the main doors. For a second, I thought about grabbing a couple but decided not to. Especially with younger kids, the fun of getting pumpkins is making an adventure out of it. Here are a couple of places around Missoula where you can have a bit of fun with the family while you grab pumpkins for Halloween.

Turner Farms

Pumpkintober is underway at Turner Farms and they kicked it off over the weekend with food trucks and music. If you missed the opening fun, there's still plenty to do. Check out the farm store as well as see the goats, pigs, sheep, cows, ducks, chickens, and more. Wrap up your visit in the pumpkin patch as you search for the perfect pumpkins to carve. Find the farm at 606 Stallion Lane in Missoula. You can check out Turner Farms' schedule online but be advised that they're closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They suggest following them on social media for updates about possibly selling out of pumpkins later in the month.

Benson's Farm

You'll also find pumpkins and other decorations at Benson's Farm. Need a miniature straw bale and some corn stalks for sprucing up your front porch? Yep, they have you covered. They're open from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 5 PM on weekends. Find Benson's Farm at 2418 South 7th Street West in Missoula.
