St. Patrick’s Day Food and Fun This Weekend
St. Patrick's Day will be celebrated with food in the Bitterroot Valley, including a Sunday Irish Brunch at Sapphire Lutheran Homes on North 10th Street from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a fundraiser for the annual Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering in August. Adults are $12 at the door and kids 6-12 are $6, age 5 and under are free. No advance tickets. On the menu a Traditional Irish Breakfast, Shepherd's Pie or Irish Lamb Stew, all served with Sweet Moor Pudding. And, you'll see a very tall leprechaun there.
Sunday evening is the annual corned beef and cabbage dinner at Stevensville's St. Mary's Parish at the Family Center, 400 Charlos Street. Hot rolls, dessert and a drink included for $13, kids 12 to 6 are $8 and younger ages are free. Green beer will be available. Hot dogs for the kids, too!
Missoula will have a parade the day before St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 16, starting at 12 Noon on Higgins Avenue. That follows an 8 a.m. Irish Catholic Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church. They also have Irish whiskey tasting at the Rhino Bar at 2 p.m., free rides at the Carousel from 2 to 4 p.m. and the day is topped off with the Friends of Irish Studies Banquet and Auction at the Holiday Inn in downtown Missoula.
