Nice! This Montana Lottery Ticket Made it a Pretty Fantastic Week

We all have rough days, and even those weeks, that seem so tough. Work sucks, your kids are monsters, the weather is ugly, there are still five days until payday and you’re almost overdrawn, etc. But on the flip side, there are those days when you feel like everything is going your way! Even if it’s little things like having a great night of sleep, hitting every green light on your commute, or being first in line at the grocery store checkout. Those little wins can put a smile on your face that’ll last the whole day through. I have to say, this has been a pretty good week for yours truly and I even had a pocketful of cash to prove it.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good

I did a donut run for the family on Sunday morning and decided the $6 tab for donuts wasn’t even worth the effort. So I got an extra $20 in cash back and decided to grab a lottery scratch ticket from the machine on the way out. It turned out to be the best donut ever as I sat at the kitchen table with the pastry in one hand while scratching the ticket with a quarter in my other hand.

There were a couple of bonus games before playing the main part of the game. I gave the first one a scratch and scored $100! The ticket had already paid for itself 5x over! I scratched the second bonus…..BOOM…..another $100! I made my way to the main game of the ticket and scratched off the winning numbers without knowing that quite a few of them would become matches in just moments. As I scratched my way through the card there ended up being another 10 instances where I won some form of money. I kept hoping for a nice reveal of $100,000 or so under one of the winning numbers but the real big score never came.

Not too shabby, not too shabby at all

When it was all said and done I had totaled $500 in winnings! And winning 12 times on the same ticket has to be a new record for me. I asked my wife if I should just turn the money into 25 more scratch tickets but she didn’t seem to love that idea as much as I did! So it looks like I’ll opt for the responsible thing and pay some bills. Stupid adulting!

I wouldn’t say I’m that lucky when it comes to gambling as I’ve definitely given away more than I’ve won over the years. But In the past, I have had a couple of nice wins on Vegas slot machines, one over $700 and another more than $800. But this was easily the biggest lottery ticket win I’ve ever had.
