I can't believe we're talking about New Year's Eve already. Wasn't it just July like three days ago? But here we go, it's almost time to wipe the slate clean and welcome a fresh start as we ring in 2022!

How hard do you go?

On what level do you celebrate New Year's Eve? Do you lay low and claim it's just another night? Are you one of those that don't really venture out but stay up and watch the festivities on tv? Or are you all about it and you use the holiday as an excuse to rip it up knowing you have the day off to recover? Me? I've moved into the dad way of celebrating these days. My two kids try and stay up until midnight, we make a little noise if they can make it that late, and then it's a bit of Martinelli's finest as we toast a few glasses of sparkling cider.

What made the list for Montana?

Parties, fireworks, celebrities performing on tv shows, it seems like there's always plenty to choose from for New Year's Eve entertainment. If you need a little inspiration this year the website Pro Mover Reviews just put together a list of the top New Year's Eve destinations by state. They selected three events per state and for Montana, they chose Ranch at Rock Creek, Big Sky Ski Resort, and Missoula's First Night 2022.

The article shares thoughts about each destination including the service and experience of the luxury hotel at Ranch at Rock Creek in Phillipsburg and the fireworks and parade that make up the fun at Big Sky Ski Resort.

There are so many different activities that help make up Missoula's First Night celebration but here's what the article specifically mentioned about the event:

You’re in for a day full of events in Missoula during First Night 2022 where art and the new year clash. Watch as artists skillfully carve ice sculptures and try your hand at art with watercolor painting and more. Then, spend the afternoon ice skating and live music. The night ends with Chinese fireworks.

Whatever way you decide to ring in 2022 just make sure to be safe and be careful on the roads.

Montana's Museum Of The Rockies Is For Everyone! Check It Out

Museum of the Rockies is nestled right next to Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman. The Museum is part of the American Alliance of Museums, which means that the Museum of the Rockies is one of the 1,095 museums to hold this distinction. With over 33,000 museums nationwide, this is quite an accomplishment.

The Museum of the Rockies is also part of the Montana Dinosaur Trail. What is that? It is a trail that runs through the state of Montana and has 14 locations. Each location will get you just a little closer to the history and knowledge of Dinosaurs.

Museum of the Rockies has current and rotating exhibits. Currently, (December 2021) here are some of my favorites that are on display: Siebel Dinosaur Complex, Welcome to Yellowstone Country, which digs into the history of Montana, Enduring Peoples Exhibit, highlighting the American Indians of Montana, and the Paugh Exhibit, illuminating the stories that connect us with the Northern Colorado Rockies. You can see all the exhibits here to make planning your trip easier.

Museum of the Rockies is an independent 501 Non-Profit here in Bozeman. With that being said, they hold some of the most exquisite benefits throughout the year. This gives the museum the opportunity to continue to be a highlight for the city of Bozeman. Another way to continue the success of the Museum of the Rockies is to become a member.

If you are considering donating to the Museum of the Rockies, you can check it out here and decide which program works best for you. Help Bozeman keep this amazing learning tool open and available to everyone. Enjoy your time at the Museum of the Rockies.

I Bought an Old House in Missoula: It's My First Time Renovating

As with any renovation project, we ran into a few mishaps when we began renovating the 1952 ranch-style home we bought in Missoula, but some of the changes we made were easy and immediately rewarding.
