The only thing better than El Cazador's fresh made tortilla chips and scrumptious salsa is having two places to get 'em. Of course the original location is still open downtown, at the corner of Front and Higgins. And you may have noticed the El Caz taco truck parked at the old Viva Mexico parking lot on South Avenue in 2020, right next to Farr Side Signs. Well the owners of El Caz actually bought that old restaurant building and turned it into El Caz 2!

The 2221 South Avenue location is now open and it's right around the corner from the radio station, so we've been on the edges of our seats waiting for it to open. The soft opening is happening now, so feel free to pop in for lunch or dinner, I bet south side residents are just as excited about this second location as we are at the station. They're also hiring for front and back of house, experience is preferred, you can drop off resumes at the South Avenue restaurant and you should ask for Isabel or Josh. Here's the link to apply online.

If you're new to El Caz, it is loved by locals and visitors alike for dozens of great reasons. The Hernandez family makes authentic, traditional Mexican cuisine and they seem to genuinely enjoy themselves. The food is phenomenal, you get a huge plate at very fair prices, the chips and salsa they bring out before you even order are fresh made, and the staff is just wonderful. And I'm told the margaritas are heavenly, check out their full menu here, and we'll see you at El Caz 2!
