Missoula Public Library Challenges You To Read 50 Books In 2021
I got to get back into reading more. When I was growing up, I used to be really well-read - I wouldn't just read the stuff assigned to me by school, I'd read for fun, too! And then, over the years, I had less and less time to devote to reading, and now I've got a pile of books sitting at my house that I know I'd enjoy if I just got around to actually reading them.
Well, the Missoula Public Library is putting me on blast. I mean, not me specifically, but they're challenging people to read 50 books between now and the end of 2021. This is a year-long challenge called Missoula Reads, and this is actually the fifth year in a row they've done this.
Basically, they've got a wide variety of 50 categories listed out on their website, and you've got to read a book that fits each one of those categories (they even helpfully include a few recommendations for each category to get you started). Some of the categories include "200 Pages Or Fewer," "Dog On the Cover," "Published In The Best Year Of Your Life," "Recent Bestseller," "Set In An Airplane," "Written By A Person Of Color," and "Your Favorite Historical Period." It's designed to get you to read a wide range of books throughout the year.
Think you can step up to the challenge and read 50 books between now and the end of the year? If you do, there's a prize in it for you! (No word on what the prize is, but still!) You can check out all the info and register over the Missoula Public Library's website.
