While this year’s Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Missoula will look different, the mission remains the same.

That mission-save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide-will tentatively feature the annual community walk, on Saturday, September 12, noon – 3:00 p.m. at Silver Park, across from the Old Sawmill District and adjacent to the Missoula PaddleHeads baseball stadium. The team realizes that nothing can substitute the experience of coming together in person, and they will continue to seek ways in which to do that safely. They welcome your ideas for gathering online and in-person this fall. Please contact the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention/Montana Chapter at montana@afsp.org for more information. In the meantime, they look forward to connecting in new ways, and invite you to join them on this journey.

Wait---Are We Still Walking To Fight Suicide? YES! Your local Out of the Darkness Walk will still provide opportunities for you to walk the day of your event (within social distancing guidelines)!

All participants can create and join teams. This is a great way to motivate family, friends, and co-workers to join you. Registered walkers will be emailed an exclusive Montana Out of the Darkness Experience sign to print! Personalize it with your name and your reason for walking.  After the e-vent, you'll get a certificate of achievement to print out and show off! If you would like to walk, make donations, sponsor a walker or just get more information, AFSA/Missoula site here.
