Missoula Pools Need New Lifeguards As Kids Head Back To School
School is getting back in session for students in Missoula, and that means a lot of kids will have to leave their summer jobs and get back to focusing on their education. Which then opens up a few jobs for other people who may want to jump in on them.
Missoula's public pools have been experiencing a worker shortage throughout the summer, like so many other businesses in town, and now the extra strain of kids heading back to school is leaving them even more understaffed than before. So if you're looking to take on a job as a lifeguard at The YMCA, Grizzly Pool, or Currents Aquatic Center, now is your chance! All of those locations are encouraging anyone interested in the position to apply.
When fully staffed, the three pools employ 115 lifeguards - but although that number has been lower this year, they've still managed to keep the pools open and safe. With the fall coming around, these pools are often used for swim meets for high school and club teams, so it's imperative that these jobs get filled as quickly as posisble.
If you're interested in applying, you can check out more info at Missoula Parks and Recreation's website. And if you want to rent your own private pool in Missoula instead, there's exactly one spot in town where you'll be able to do that.
Think you or someone you know could take over as a lifeguard at one of these pools?
