Missoula Police were searching for a vehicle that was seen driving down a local sidewalk just after 1:00 P.M. today, January 31. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

"Just after 1 p.m. we received a report of an incident that happened in the 1100 block of West Broadway," said Welsh. "The reporting party indicated that a vehicle almost hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk in that location."

There were some eyewitness reports that the van nearly drove into the Poverello Center, but as the pursuit was ongoing, police were not able to provide more details other than a description of the vehicle.

"The vehicle was described as a blue Ford van with duct tape on the driver side of the rear window and had a partial plate of 35016B," Welsh said. "Apparently it was reported to have been driving on the sidewalk and was last seen east bound on a sidewalk on Cedar street."

According to Welsh, the victim that was nearly hit on the sidewalk on Broadway did not appear to have been injured. There may be other victims.
