Missoula Art Museum Highlights Local Music In New Album

It's been a rough year for the music industry as a whole, but forget about the super-famous artists who can't go on tour for a second. Think of the local artists who are likely struggling a lot worse for the same reasons. These people don't have big record deals or a huge worldwide following that'll keep buying their merch and new products, but they're still creating a vital sound for their communities that matters to a lot of people.

Missoula especially has a great local music scene, and most of those bands have had to resort to live-streamed performances ever since COVID shut down concerts. And now, the Missoula Art Museum has decided to highlight local performers from all kinds of different genres with a new soundtrack album, which is called "Getting Thru." (I guess my original suggestion of "Now That's What I Call Missoula!" couldn't be used for copyright reasons.)

They worked with the Montana Area Music Association to make the album happen, and it includes artists like Big Sky Mudflaps, Salsa Loca, C Dylla G, Partygoers, Cairns, and more. It'll have over 60 songs from 30 artists spreading across a wide range of genre.
