It's been a steady stream of closures and postponement announcements in Missoula over the last week or so in the wake of the Coronavirus - The Roxy Theater shut down, Logjam is going dark for 30 days, schools are closed for two weeks - and now, you can add the Missoula Art Museum to the list.

Here's what they said about the closure in a press release:

In support of community and statewide efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 the Missoula Art Museum will be closed to the public through April 6, 2020. MAM offices will be closed March 17–23. Public programming is cancelled through May 2, 2020.

MAM’s work to celebrate the art of our time and stimulate artistic creativity and innovation is more important now than ever before. MAM will resume its role of actively engaging its audience with art and artists just as soon as possible. In the meantime, MAM will continue to communicate with the public and share exhibitions and collections through email, social media, and the MAM website.

MAM greatly appreciates the public’s understanding, as the museum makes its best decisions together with the arts community. MAM will be checking voicemail messages at 406.728.0447.

Missoula Art Museum is a free, public museum that could use your support during their downtime. Check out their website to see what you can do to help.
