Here’s Everything To Get Excited About At Missoula’s Roxy Theater In September

August was a big month for The Roxy Theater in Missoula - after a lot of buildup, they were finally able to hold the Camp Horror Film Festival, which was three days of movies, comedy, shorts, and more. It was a huge success, and a total blast to attend (I can attest to that, because, y'know, I was there).

But there's no time to rest - September sees The Roxy getting even more ambitious with their programming, with a ton of great stuff that cinephiles are not going to want to miss. The big centerpiece for the month is a series called "Everything Is Fine: David Lynch At 75," celebrating the 75th birthday of famed auteur David Lynch (who, as a sidenote, was born right here in Missoula). Five of his films will be shown throughout September, with two showings for each one: Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart, Lost Highway, and Mulholland Drive. And as an added bonus, the final screening of Mulholland Drive will feature a special performance by Rebekah Del Rio, who appears in the movie as well as in another of Lynch's works, Twin Peaks: The Return.

On top of that, the final two Centerfield Cinema screenings for the year are set to take place at Ogren Park: Clue and The Wizard Of Oz. The ongoing Movie Cult series is happening every Saturday night, with screenings of Midsommar, Perfect Blue, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, and Hunt For The Wilderpeople. Trash Talk returns with an obscure one that looks wild, Tetsuo II: The Body Hammer. And that's still not even all!

The Roxy also appears to be launching a new series called Midnight Madness, and the first film scheduled for that will be 2016's Antibirth. AND they're teaming up with Bare Bait Dance for a series called Just Dance, and this month they'll be showing Billy Elliot. AND they've got two more Hip Strip Movie Nights lined up, with The Breakfast Club and Point Break!

There's still more on the schedule that I haven't even covered - other screenings of classic films scattered throughout the month, plus of course new releases that are being shown every single day.
