One of the biggest problems we face as a country right now is our inability to focus on the similarities we share as a united people. Instead we dwell on our differences and get caught up in the over-inflated anger and hated that gets spread all over social media. Trust me, I do it too!

But wouldn't it be nice, even if just for one day, we put all our differences aside and come together to share our love for something as simple as running?

I, along with my friends from Run Wild Missoula and Runners Edge, sure think so! That's why we want to encourage you, and your friends and family, to partake in Global Running Day right here in Missoula!

Check the details:

Join Run Wild Missoula on June 6th at 6:00 PM to celebrate our running community. We will have 3-mile, 4-mile, 5-mile, and 8-mile route options available. After the run, meet back in the alley for pizza and beer! Please RSVP so we have an idea of how much pizza to order!

Global Running Day is a day for people around the world to celebrate the joys of running. Participation is easy—just pledge to take part in some type of running activity on June 6, 2018. It can be a solo lap around the block, a long run with friends, or even a game of tag with your kids. The key is to share your passion for the sport and inspire others to get moving.

Last year, more than 2.5 million people from 177 countries, including nearly 700,000 kids, pledged to run 9.2 million miles on Global Running Day. The day received more than one billion impressions on social media, with running activities taking place across the globe from New Zealand to New York.
