The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 11 new criminal complaints last week. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst said three of those cases fell into the violent crime category.

“One was a violation of an order of protection,” Pabst said. “The second was a partner or family member assault. In the non-family category, we charged a burglary. The allegation is that a woman forced her way into another woman’s home and there was some bodily assault involved.”

In addition, Pabst said her office charged three new felony DUI cases and one criminal endangerment case.

“The defendant is charged with several other traffic offenses and eluding police on a high speed chase through town after they attempted to stop her for speeding and changing lanes without a signal,” Pabst said. “She allegedly sped up to 100 miles per hour on highway 93 out by Miller Creek. She also allegedly cut across Russell Street and almost caused three different collisions and almost collided with a law enforcement officer.”

Pabst said they also charged one theft cases and three new drug cases. As of Friday morning, Pabst said no one has been arrested during any of the local protests.

“As you know, there has been a lot of activity downtown,” Pabst said. “There have been a lot of peaceful protests. Those are the kind that we encourage and welcome. We haven’t had any arrests as a result of those. Folks have been coming to the courthouse and talking about what they believe in and what they are passionate about. It is done in a fairly peaceful way.”
