A Man Sleeping in a Bathroom had Meth and Several Stolen Items

At around 8:15 Sunday morning, Missoula police responded to a convenience store in the 2100 block of South Higgins. A clerk told officers that a male went into the store’s bathroom and had been sleeping in there for several hours. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“A clerk reported that she was frightened of what the male may be doing, or may be capable of, and sought police assistance,” Welsh said. “An officer arrived and made contact with the male who was in fact sleeping in the restroom. The male gave a fictitious ID and said he came in because his feet were cold.”

The officer suspected that the male was actually 37-year-old Adam Pszanowski. The officer was under the impression that the man had an outstanding warrant and he confirmed his suspicion by using a previous booking photo.

“Mr. Pszanowski was placed under arrest,” Welsh said. “At the time, he was found to be in possession of several items that appeared to belong to other people. Some of the items were actually identified with names. They also discovered that the male had a white crystalline substance on him that was later determined to be methamphetamine.”

Welsh says this is an ongoing case because it appears Mr. Pszanowski has been actively breaking into vehicles. Mr. Pszanowski is currently being held for eight separate offenses, including three felonies.
