At about 12:45 Sunday morning, Missoula Police officers were asked to come to the Missoula County Jail. A woman was at the jail and reported that she was just involved in a disturbance with her boyfriend. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says the man was identified as 34-year-old Dion Dominguez.

“The woman stated that the couple was in Polson earlier in the day and was driving back,” Welsh said. “She reported that they were arguing most of the way. At one point, the male reached over from the passenger seat and grabbed the wheel while the car was in motion. He jerked the wheel to one side and caused the female to lose control. They actually crashed into a highway marker of some sort.”

According to Welsh, the couple pulled back onto the road and eventually stopped at the jail.

“It doesn’t appear either suffered injuries from either the crash or the argument,” Welsh said. “When the officers made contact with Mr. Dominguez, he initially refused to get out of his vehicle. He was subsequently taken into custody and is currently being held for charges related to the incident.”

Dominguez is being held for felony criminal endangerment, felony criminal mischief, and obstructing a peace officer.
