I'm a huge movie fan, and especially a horror movie fan. And since it's October and we're leading into Halloween, it seems only right to fill this month with a ton of scary movies. Here's five of my all-time favorites that, if you haven't seen them, you should absolutely check out.
1. Halloween (1978)
I mean, obviously. It's one of the best horror movies of all time, a slasher classic, and it's even called Halloween. What more do you want?
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
A great Halloween movie that you can show to your kids, plus you can keep it around and watch it again for Christmas, too. It's a two-for-one!
3. Poltergeist (1982)
This might be the first horror movie I ever watched. I was eight years old. I was scarred for life. Scar your kids with this one! It's fun!
4. The Slumber Party Massacre (1982)
And underrated slasher from the '80s, and one of the only horror movies from that period by a female director.
5. Trick 'r Treat (2007)
This movie's a blast - my roommates and I used to watch it every October, and we've even kept that tradition alive all these years later. Absolutely worth picking up to make it a tradition of your own.
