Will Uber Eats Allow You To Order Marijuana in Missoula?
Beginning in 2022, Montana is set to begin selling legal marijuana for recreational use. There are some hurdles in getting there, but effectively, you'll be able to walk into a store and just go ahead and buy some. You've probably noticed the increasing number of dispensaries that have been popping up throughout Missoula - that's not a coincidence.
It's a whole new world we'll be living in. And, because it's so new, it raises certain questions that we're going to have to explore. Questions like - will I be able to get weed delivered to my house?
Uber Eats is Allowing Customers to Order Weed in Canada
KPAX reports that Uber Eats is allowing customers to order marijuana through their app in Ontario, Canada, although they're not allowing deliveries - customers can order through the app but they have to come pick it up at a designated spot.
Since it's only in Ontario, it feels like an experiment. If successful, they may expand that service to other areas, and the CEO is expressing interest in the US marijuana market. The problem is, the US is a little trickier, because while marijuana is legal in some states, it's still illegal on a federal level.
I feel like delivery is the next logical step, although the surcharges on apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash are always ridiculous when you're just ordering food - imagine how bad they'd be if you were getting weed?
If it does happen, it sounds like it would be a while before we get there. Would you use Uber Eats to have weed delivered straight to your house?
