In all my years of wandering around in the great outdoors, I have found myself in some interesting situations. I can count on one hand how many times I have had a close encounter with a ticked-off moose.

How about the time I stumbled on a cow moose and her calf while fishing Rock Creek? How I slowly backed away, knowing that nothing is more dangerous than an angry momma moose.

Maybe the time I got charged by a momma moose near Cooke City, MT? While riding an ATV, I heard strange noises coming from deep inside a thick patch of timber. Soon the patch of timber burst open and an angry cow moose came running directly at me. I was out of there quicker than you can say "Bullwinkle."

It is clear that you don't mess with momma!

One grizzly bear in Glacier National Park can't seem to wrap its head around the fact that a moose can whoop its butt. A video has been trending online showing a standoff in Glacier National Park between a giant moose and a large grizzly bear. It is said that the grizzly bear had been harassing newborn calves day and night. Eventually, momma moose had enough and decided to take on the bear herself.

It was all captured on camera.

According to animals.howstuffworks.com

The number of moose attacks spikes in September and October during mating season and the early spring when mothers are protecting their young calves. For that reason, it's important to not throw anything at moose and keep any dogs away from them. Moose especially dislike dogs because they run up and bark at them.
