The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 14 new criminal complaints this past week, but they were also reviewing three additional cases as of Friday morning. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst says six of those cases involved violence.

“We charged two partner or family member assault cases and two separate jail assaults,” Pabst said. “We charged two counts of assault on a peace officer. We charged a sexual abuse of a child. In that case, the defendant was allegedly encouraging a 15-year-old victim to engage in sexual behavior.”

According to Pabst, they also charged someone with endangering the welfare of a child.

“In that case, sheriff deputies responded to Fred’s Lounge upon the report of a young child left inside a running truck in the parking lot for about an hour while the father was allegedly inside patronizing the business.”

There were also several property crimes that involved stolen bicycles. Pabst encourages folks to lock their bikes because it just takes a minute and can prevent a lot of hassle in the future.
