Update: Maroon 5 Cancels Tour, Including Show in Billings

As much as we're ready for it, we're not totally back to business as usual when it comes to concerts. I know, stop me if you've heard this story before! It's been a roller coaster ride for concerts since the start of the pandemic and it seemed like 2022 was when things would really get back on track for live music. But the last 48 hours have put a bit of a damper on the excitement of the summer concert season as we've seen a couple of notable shows get canceled. The latest news is that Maroon 5 has pulled the plug on their world tour which included a show in Billings.

Big Sky Brewing had to cancel their first show of the summer

The Big Sky Brewing Company Amphitheater was ready to hold its long-awaited first concert since 2019 this week. And we were right there with them, ready to welcome live music back to the venue after the three-year wait! But the day before the show, Ween had to cancel when a member of the band tested positive for COVID. If you're keeping track at home, the Ween timeline now shows a concert scheduled for 2020, postponed until 2021, pushed back to 2022, and now postponed once again. Unbelievable!

What's the reason behind Maroon 5 canceling shows?

Not much is known about today's announcement for Maroon 5. We simply received an email from the concert promoter that said the band is canceling their tour and that includes the Billings show on August 8. As of now, searching online isn't providing much in the way of answers. There is very limited information and most articles are focused on individual cancelations, not the tour as a whole. Like most, Maroon 5 did cancel tour dates in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic. But there's been no reason given when it comes to the latest cancellations. At the time of writing, Maroon 5's website has no update and their Facebook page hasn't had a post in three weeks.
