It's crazy to think about how much in Missoula has changed just in the last few years. So many businesses have swapped locations, so many new buildings have been constructed... I was perusing through this photo comparison of Missoula now vs. about 10 years ago and it's kind of mind-blowing!

And while we're still waiting for certain construction projects in Missoula to finally wrap up - such as the Beartracks Bridge or Caras Park - we've now got news on another one that's just starting, this time at the University of Montana campus.

The University of Montana is Building a New Dining Hall

KPAX is reporting about a new project at the University of Montana which would see the demolition of Craig Hall - which has been a resident space for students since 1952 - to make room for a new dining hall. The goal is for it to be completely finished in 2024.

The construction has created a bit of a mess on campus and is forcing students to find alternate routes to their classes, but ideally, it will be worth it in the end.

It will also affect student housing, as UM spokesperson Dave Kuntz tells KPAX that it will be tight for the next couple of semesters, but not unavailable.

As for those who have attended the University of Montana and lived in Craig Hall, its demolition is likely bringing back a lot of old memories. I know if my college announced that it was taking down my freshman dorm - good old Brubacher Hall, located so far off campus that we could basically get away with anything - I'd probably have some thoughts about it.
