UM Opens Up Food Pantry For Students in Need
Now this is a really great thing. The University of Montana, in an effort to help out its students in need of assistance, opened up a food pantry on Tuesday filled with non-perishables and toiletries.
UM and Missoula College faculty and staff realized years ago that food insecurity was a growing problem among students years ago, and this project has been in the works for a while.
The pantry contains about 1,000 pounds of food and students are able to take 5 to 10 pounds of food as needed, without any requirement for an application. The pantry is located at the West Atrium Desk on the first floor of the UC.
