U of Montana Lights Up Main Hall Honoring Local High Schools

First, our apologies for getting this information out to you a day later than we should have. We certainly meant no disrespect to the first school honored.

Now that our mea culpa is out of the way, we want you to know that The University of Montana is lighting historic Main Hall nightly through June 8 to honor Missoula-area high school graduates. The lighting of Main Hall will commence at 9 p.m. each evening, with the lights reflecting the colors of a different local high school. The lights will remain on until 11 p.m.

Graduates and their families are welcome to visit campus to celebrate their incredible accomplishment under the lights of Main Hall.

University of Montana President Seth Bodnar was quoted as saying, “The University of Montana is thrilled to honor the academic success and perseverance of our local high school graduates. On behalf of the entire UM family and Missoula’s hometown university, I welcome these graduates to revel in their incredible accomplishment, celebrate under the lights of their school colors and take the next steps towards fulfilling their bright futures.”

The nightly Main Hall lighting began last night (June 1) with a tribute to Missoula's Valley Christian High School. Here is the schedule for the remainder of the tributes:

Willard High School: Wednesday, June 2

Big Sky High School: Thursday, June 3

Seeley-Swan High School: Friday, June 4

Hellgate High School: Saturday, June 5

Sentinel High School: Sunday, June 6

Frenchtown High School: Monday, June 7

Loyola High School: Tuesday, June 8
