Pepsi Confirms Tony Bennett’s Involvement in Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show
Lady Gaga's favorite jazz partner, Cheek To Cheek collaborator Tony Bennett, will be doing the honors of introducing his leading lady to the Super Bowl halftime show stage on February 5 in video form, Pepsi has confirmed.
In a new press release from the PepsiCo brand this week, the food and beverage company revealed the full extent of their Super Bowl 51 promotional plans, including a commercial for Pepsi's new premium bottled water LIFEWTR featuring John Legend's "Love Me Now," as well as a Pepsi Zero Sugar countdown to Lady Gaga's halftime performance before Mother Monster hits the stage, led with a pre-produced 10-second video starring Tony Bennett.
"In the 10 seconds before the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show, the brand will countdown to Lady Gaga's epic performance with an unforgettable lead-in featuring legendary singer Tony Bennett. PepsiCo's Creators League Studio produced the lead-in," the press release proclaims.
This is just the latest collaboration between Gaga and Bennett in their longstanding creative relationship ever since working together on a duet of "The Lady Is a Tramp" for Bennett's 2011 studio album, Duets II.
Ahead of the upcoming show, Pepsi's teased Gaga's forthcoming halftime performance with behind-the-scenes footage that includes confirmation of the inclusion of "Bad Romance" in her set list, which you can watch below.
Super Bowl 51 kicks off at 6:30 PM ET on Sunday, February 5.
