The Toys Children Would Buy For Themselves in 2015

There are lots of toy shopping guides out there, but what would an eight-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy buy for themselves? I gave my kids a shopping cart and two hours of time to pick out whatever they wanted for Christmas, with no parental influence. Here's what they picked out:

Elijah, the five-year-old boy focused on dinosaurs, cars and ninjas. As a parent, I noticed he quickly bought into toys that had good displays in the store. Here's his top ten list:

Naomi, the eight-year-old girl, focused on craft projects, doll equipment, and Monster High dolls. Special not to parents... despite understanding money, many of her gifts were not very expensive.

I have a two-year old too, but all he wanted to do was play with a ball and get a puppy. Maybe I'll throw him into the mix next year!
