With Spring here and bonfires and barbecues in our very near future, it’s time to break out the smores. This recipe is a great way to break out the smores any time of day or night. It is one of those treats that looks like it takes a lot of time and hard work to make, but is actually really easy.

It’s looking like this weekend is shaping up to be the first real shot of spring weather we’re going to get this year. As far as I’m concerned, this calls for a celebration. What better way is there to do that than by kicking back in a lawn chair, soaking up the sun and sipping on a refreshing spring beverage.

The long, record-setting winter of 2013-2014 may finally be in the rear-view mirror permanently after Tuesday.

It seems like months since we’ve seen grass (maybe because it has been). Now that the green stuff has finally appeared, we should take advantage of it. Now that spring is officially less than a week away, the National Weather Service has revealed some interesting statistics about the winter of 2012.

I’m allergic to grass, and when I mow I have to wear a respirator and goggles. At this early point in the season, though, I don’t bother with that stuff. It’s already starting to green up (especially the moss), and the terrifying, throat-constricting allergens are being loosed from the ground with every stroke of the rake. Before I know it, I’m huffing and puffing, getting dizzy, and collapsing on the ground, gasping for breath, calling for the asthma inhaler and the Beefeater’s.

They say April showers bring May flowers, but I seriously doubt that anything will be blooming in my garden this spring.
