Heatstroke

The Missoula City County Health Department reached out to KGVO on Monday to share important information on how to stay safe and healthy during this week of extremely hot weather.

Saturday was National Heatstroke Prevention Day, and Kevi Berger, Operations and Programs Manager at the Foundation for Community Health, spoke to KGVO about the dangers of leaving children inside a vehicle.

The Montana Children’s Trust Fund’s “Not Even for a Minute” campaign encourages parents and caregivers to never leave children unattended in or around vehicles.

The death of twins recently in New York City after their father mistakenly left them in the back seat of his car when he went to work has brought to light the importance of creating reminders to prevent a similar tragedy from happening in Missoula.
