One of Disney’s biggest sensations ever is joining the ranks of Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King in getting its own live version onstage.

Disney sure hopes so, as they announced in a new press release today that their mega-successful Frozen would gain a sort of mini-sequel in an upcoming short to be bundled with Coco. But Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is no ordinary lead-in to the main event; it sounds like quite a bit has gone into the short that Disney repeatedly refers to as a “featurette,” running at 21 minutes and including four new songs, as well as returning cast members Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Jonathan Groff. Parents, batten down the hatches, for a new ‘Let It Go’ is close at hand.

It’s no secret that Disney movies, especially their fairytale retellings, go through lots of revisions. It’s not enough for these stories to stick to their Grimm roots anymore — audiences are much more responsive to updated versions with characters who speak to modern sensibilities. Frozen was no different, originally having an ending that was totally different from the one the final cut ended up with.

This week heralds the release of Disney’s latest animated film, Moana, which boasts songs co-written by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. So there’s no better time to compile a list of the 25 best songs in animated Disney history — with a couple of important pre-list caveats. First, to avoid overloading the list with songs from only a few films, each movie here could only be represented by a maximum of two songs. Second, this list has films in the official Disney animation canon only, so nothing from Pixar or even The Nightmare Before Christmas. With that in mind, here’s the list!

The marketing for Disney’s Zootopia hasn’t exactly hooked us just yet, but early word-of-mouth suggests that the studio’s latest animated adventure is not only smarter and more subversive than the trailers would have you believe, but that Zootopia is right up there with the best of Pixar. At long last, it's finally here! The 'Frozen Fever' trailer has debuted -- along with a clip of a brand-new song! -- and it is pure magic.

If the prospect of a new live-action version of Cinderella wasn’t enticing enough, the new Disney film is opening with a special added attraction: “Frozen Fever,” a short sequel to Frozen, the most popular movie (and most dastardly earworm) of 2013. And here I thought “Frozen fever” was a mental illness that made kids sing “Let It Go” over and over again until their parents begged for the sweet release of death. My mistake.
