SNL had a taxing October with a full four hosts for Season 42, but November will get really Strange. Benedict Cumberbatch himself will host the first November SNL, the very weekend that Marvel’s Doctor Strange hits theaters.

It should go without saying that this post contains major spoilers for Doctor Strange — specifically the mid- and post-credits scenes from the Sorcerer Supreme’s big debut. In addition to introducing new mystical elements (and threats), Doctor Strange establishes some very interesting connections to the MCU and teases events to come. Even from the very beginning  —  when director Jon Favreau put his reputation on the line to get Robert Downey, Jr. in the original Iron Man movie  —  the Marvel Cinematic Universe has earned its reputation for finding just the right actors in just the right roles. Sometimes, like in the case of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the casting is painfully obvious; sometimes it catches you a little by surprise. Who would have known ten years ago that Chris Evans would become the perfect embodiment of Captain America?

Y’know those back to school ads for Staples? The ones that repurpose the Christmas standard “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” to celebrate children going back class? I always hated those ads as a kid. Going back to school was not a time to celebrate. It was a time for grief and mourning.

Following yesterday’s reveal of two images from Doctor Strange, Marvel has revealed even more new photos from the Sorcerer Supreme’s upcoming solo film. And while the gallery above features several stills of Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, you’ll also find some new sneak peeks at Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo and Mads Mikkelsen’s villainous Kaecilius, as well as our first good look at Benedict Wong as Wong. Oh, and there’s plenty of those mind-bending, Inception-style landscape shots, too.

Television spots are always something of a mixed big. On the one hand, you’re rarely going to see new content in television ads, and the new trailer for Marvel’s Doctor Strange is certainly no exception. On the other hand, though, just the fact that a television spot exists means that the release of the movie is just around the corner. To its credit, this new spot also really highlights the things we’re already excited to see: freaky inter-dimensional travel and the impassive teachings of Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One.

With Doctor Strange set to hit theaters in a few months, it seems a bit late in the game to add new cast members, but a new poster for Marvel’s mystical superhero film reveals that that’s most certainly the case. The poster debuted at Comic-Con last weekend, with several people immediately pointing out the curious addition of Benjamin Bratt’s name in the casting credits. But who might he be playing?

Before San Diego Comic-Con kicked off Marvel gave us a sneak peek at the new poster for ‘Doctor Strange.’ But during the Marvel Studio’s panel in Hall H on Saturday, the cast revealed a brand new trailer for the movie.

San Diego Comic-Con saved the biggest news for last. Marvel’s panel is the last big film panel in Hall H this year, and we’re bound to get some huge news on everything from ‘Doctor Strange’ to ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’

Headed to Comic-Con International this month? Be sure to keep your eyes open: Entertainment Weekly reports that copies this new Doctor Strange poster will be distributed at the convention, which runs from July 21–24. This may not be the announcement of a Doctor Strange panel that a lot of fans are still hoping for, but as far as consolation prizes go, it’s pretty darn acceptable.
