Though the Bitterroot Performing Arts Series has be on "extended intermission" during the COVID-19 intermission, the board has been busy with its 7th annual spring fundraising efforts. That includes the second online auction for their "Spring For The Arts" event this year. And you can view the items on the auction right now.

The auction itself will be April 9th through April 16, with the bidding closing at 6 p.m. on the last day of the auction. All the details are at the Bitterroot Performing Arts website.

Some of the items (and there almost 100 of them) include some exclusive opportunities such as a backcountry charter flight from Choice Aviation of Hamilton, golf at the Stock Farm Club, a bracelet and necklace from Mikesell's Fine Jewelry, a Bitterroot River float trip with guide Jenny West, a birding walk and brunch from Bitterroot Audubon Society, along with lots of certificates from places like Cherry Street Cafe, Bouilla's, Bitterroot Brewery, Jesse's Wine and Goods, Shed Horn Cellars, Flower Happy and lots and lots of local artists' creations.

Jacque VanDenburg said profits from the auction will help pay for bringing in entertainers for the popular live concert series. she said the board hopes to start the concerts again before the end of 2021, with tentative plans for possibly four concerts in 2022. The details will develop as the pandemic hopefully winds down. The 2020 concert of Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra was rescheduled to this fall and would be the first live event possible, according to the Performing Arts board of directors. However, the series also needs permission to rent the Hamilton High School Performing Arts Center. That decision has not yet been made.
