Soldier Makes Surprise Return Home to Meet Baby Daughter
Here's a story for Veterans Day that will give you all the feels.
Iowa National Guard Sergeant John Vorrath watched his wife give birth to their baby girl via FaceTime since he was in the Middle East at the time.
However, he learned during the labor that he would be allowed to go home. He then jumped onto a plane and flew 22 hours to surprise his wife, 2-year-old son and new daughter in Ames. It was doubly sweet because no one knew he would show up.
Vorrath spent a week at home before he returned to duty.
See, we told you you'd get the feels. Happy Veterans Day!
