By now in my mission to taste-test a pumpkin-spice latte from everywhere that serves the not-so-exclusive-to-autumn-but-definitely-autumny beverage in Missoula, you'd think I'd start getting addicted to the stuff. It hasn't happened yet, though my doctor is probably going to scold me for having unusually high sugar levels.

For this next PSL, I headed to one of the most popular venues in downtown Missoula, Break Espresso. It's nestled nicely in between other merchants on North Higgins Ave, just off of Spruce St. Lots of Montanans come to Break; students, coffee enthusiasts, D&D players, even radio jocks who suddenly have an urge to "get their pumpkin on."

If you've read my last two reviews, you know that most coffee shops get their pumpkin-y goodness from either a simple syrup or a bona fide pumpkin puree. Walking up to the counter, I noticed this row of simple syrups:

No pumpkin spice in those bottles.

However, I was pleased to see that Break uses this delicious-looking pumpkin puree that, unlike any other venue I've been to as of this writing, is made in-house and as needed! Looks yummy...

Not too foamy, not too hot. This little guy tasted more like cinnamon than pumpkin, although the pumpkin aftertaste is Totes McGoats present. While I've detected a hint of cinnamon in other PSLs, the amount in this one adds a little je ne sais quoi...pardon my French.

A whiff of pumpkin. OK, it was more than one.

The Break PSL didn't last long in my care. It's a good twenty minute drive from Break in downtown back to the Townsquare Media building on Reserve St with midday traffic, but my drink was toast by the time I got there.
