Popular Hamilton Theater Will Show Some Movies Indoors This Year
A few days ago, we told you that the Pharaohplex Drive-In in Hamilton was getting ready to make its big return for the summer, reopening on May 6th to screen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But we were also left wondering what the status of the actual theater was - so much of the inside has been renovated and converted into studio space, and people in the comments were wondering whether they'll even be able to show movies indoors anymore.
Well, it looks like we finally have an answer to that one - while the theater may not be consistently open for new releases, there will be some movies that they will be showing indoors.
On the Pharaohplex's Facebook page, they announced that they'll be showing Father Stu (in which Mark Wahlberg plays a priest from Helena) indoors for one weekend only, beginning on May 6th.
Digging around at the Pharaohplex's website, they say that some of their theaters remain unchanged and they've been working to improve the venue's ability to host, "unique events and showings, concerts, film production, community events, and storage." They're trying to be flexible in their use of the facility because they just haven't seen the same market for indoor theatrical movies in a post-COVID world.
So it sounds like at least a few movies will be coming through Hamilton to play inside the Pharaohplex, and hopefully those are enough of a success to convince them to start screening them more often. To keep updated on what's playing, your best bet is to follow their Facebook page.
