It was a long spring and summer of 2020 without professional baseball in Missoula, but 2021 is promising to be a banner first season for the new Missoula Paddleheads.

Director or Marketing and Public Relations Taylor Rush broke the news to KGVO on Wednesday.

“I think the biggest news out of all of this is our previous 76 game schedule has been increased to a 96 game schedule, so fans in Missoula will have 10 more opportunities a year to come watch professional baseball at Ogren Park Allegiance Field,” said Rush. “We added the Boise Hawks this year as part of the restructure through minor league baseball. Our peers over in Idaho needed a league and they're a fantastic organization and we were thrilled to welcome them as a part of the family.”

Rush said due to their experience last season when many special events were held at the ballpark, many of those events will continue this season.

“Now that we have a schedule in hand, we're working diligently to figure out what dates fit what events and we're looking at bringing back the favorites from last year, including our centerfield cinema with the Roxy Theater,” he said. “You can look for events like trivia and golf and all of the wonderful staples that we were able to introduce last year.”

Rush made a startling statement about the support for minor league baseball over the years in Missoula.

“Since 2007, the inaugural season of Ogren Park Allegiance Field we've had over a million fans in the gates,” he said. It's a wonderful number to celebrate, and we look forward to watching that number grow over the years.”

Tickets are already on sale, and Rush said there are special preseason prices.

“We're actually running a special through the end of February where season ticket prices will be fixed at our previous 76 game rate, so any anyone who purchases a season ticket from now until the end of February will receive 10 free games, along with free parking and that's almost a $400 value,” he said.

The first game will be Saturday, May 22 against the Great Falls Voyagers.
