New York Times Best Selling Author Tommy Orange to Speak in Missoula

Native American New York Times best selling author, Tommy Orange, will be participating in three events on campus this Wednesday, October 30th.

Tommy Orange's best selling book "There There" is this year's 'Griz Read.' "There There," a book that follows 12 characters from Native communities who are all traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow, and who are all connected to one another in ways they may not yet realize. The purpose of the 'Griz Read' is to provide new students with a common connection through a thought-provoking book. Each year, a committee of faculty, staff, and students select a book from nominations submitted by the campus community. All members of the campus community, especially first-year students, are encouraged to read the book and participate in Griz Read event. Missoula high school students are also reading the book.

Tommy Orange will speak at three events on Wednesday.
