MT Natural History Center Holds “Montana Nature Week” In October
Everybody has had to adapt in 2020 and figure out new ways of doing things thanks to the pandemic. The Montana Natural History Center in Missoula is no exception - normally around this time of the year, they'd be gearing up for their annual banquet and auction - it's the biggest and most important fundraiser they hold every year. And of course, it can't exactly happen this year.
Sure, that's a bummer, but rather than just call it a year, the Natural History Center is still working to give people something cool and raise some donations while they're at it. October 5th through 9th will be "Montana Nature Week," a way to connect with people from the comfort of their own homes.
Basically, here's how it'll work - starting on the 5th, they'll be releasing "fun, interactive videos that showcase what MNHC does best, nature education." They'll have nature journaling, a sketching class, a behind-the-scenes look at their collections, and more. And then, starting on Wednesday the 7th, they'll be live-streaming different special presentations starting at 7 PM each evening. They'll be showing off a brand new fossil exhibit, hold a nature storytelling night, and feature a Q&A with the naturalists of the Montana Natural History Center.
Sounds pretty cool, right? Definitely a great way to help support a vital source of local knowledge. You can get all the info (and make a donation, too) at their website. Will you be checking this out?
