At around 11:30 Sunday night, Missoula police officers responded to an incident in the 1800 block of Reserve Street. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, a woman called 9-1-1 and reported that a male was slashing her tires while she was on the phone.

“The complainant described the suspect as 25-year-old Shavaun Gregory and further described him as the ex-boyfriend of a friend of hers who was currently at her residence,” Welsh said. “When the officers arrived, they discovered that the suspect male had left the scene in his vehicle, which was described as a white Subaru. The complainant informed the officers that the suspect may have been en route downtown where he frequents bars and taverns.”

Welsh says another officer located Gregory’s vehicle in front of a bar in the 100 block of West Broadway. Officers went into the bar and located Gregory.

“The complainant had informed the officers that prior to slashing the tires on her car, the male had actually walked into her residence, despite being told that he was not welcome there and that he couldn’t come in,” Welsh said. “He apparently walked into the kitchen, grabbed a steak knife, went outside, and proceeded to flatten two of the complainant’s tires on her vehicle.”

Gregory was placed under arrest and transported to the Missoula County Jail where he is currently being held for burglary and criminal mischief.
