The Missoula County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim in Sunday evening's fatal head-on collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck near the Gray Wolf Peak Casino.

Undersheriff Jason Johnson said the name has been released because the victim's family has already been identified.

"His name is Raymond Gene Cook, 30, of Missoula." Johnson said. "He is the man who passed away as the result of the head-on collision that occurred on Highway 93 North near the Gray Wolf Peak Casino."

Johnson said the investigation into the crash itself, as to whether alcohol or excessive speed  were factors, is being conducted by the Montana Highway Patrol.

"A toxicology test for alcohol can take quite some time, so the Highway Patrol is handling that part of the incident. All we can release is the name of the victim and the cause of death, which was blunt force trauma due to the head-on collision."

The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries. Highway 93 North was blocked for about three hours on Sunday evening.
