Another Montana town has made a list that will either make people happy OR it will make people mad. Either way, it's on the list and I am a fan of it.

According to Travel and Leisure, Whitefish is one of the Top 16 Best Small Towns In America. This shouldn't surprise anyone who has been to the cute town.

If you love outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, fishing, etc., then Whitefish is on your list of favorite places. Not only can you get some of the best outdoor activities, but you are also close to Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake. Sounds like a win-win.

As far as housing in Whitefish, according to Zillow, you do have some options but you will need to have at least $500,000 on hand, and that is on the low end. Whitefish may start seeing what Gallatin Valley is seeing, and people purchasing in the surrounding towns, just to be close to the pot of gold.

Along with Whitefish making the list of Best Small Towns In America, it is also listed as one of the best places to live in the mountains in the United States.

There has been a lot of huffing and puffing when it comes to these "national lists" about Montana. To be fair, it's not the national lists that bring people to Montana, it's the beauty, the access to two of the greatest National Parks, it's the fact that everywhere you look, you see beauty. So to any average Joe driving through, it's no surprise that people want to make Montana home.
