Sammy Hagar is bringing 'Monsters of Rock' back to Spokane in 2020.

The Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane is set to be demolished this year. It's been a host to high school football since the 1950's, but the Washington State Cougars, Idaho Vandals, Eastern Washington Eagles, and even the Seattle Seahawks have played there. Sammy Hagar heard about this while he was in the area playing Northern Quest Casino last year, and thought a final Monsters of Rock festival would be the perfect way to close down the stadium properly.

Promoters picked up the idea and the Spokane Public School Board is set to approve, so, there WILL be a Monsters of Rock in Spokane on either August 15th or August 22nd, according to The Spokesman-Review. The reason the school board was involved is because the promoters want to treat this show as a festival and serve alcohol on school district property. Spokane Public Schools will also receive $1 from each ticket sold and make around $30,000 in rental fees. Joe Albi stadium will be demolished following the festival.

The original Monsters of Rock in 1988 was co-headlined by Van Halen and the Scorpions with Metallica and Dokken as opening bands. So we're stoked to see what promoters come up with and we will let you know when a full line up is announced along with ticket info!
