Missoula Skaters Touring Montana To Inspire Girls To Get Into Skating
Have you heard about Girls On Shred? They're a division of the Montana Skatepark Association that works to provide opportunities for girls and non-binary persons to learn and develop their skills in skateboarding and snowboarding. It's such a male-dominated field that it can be intimidating for women to enter the fray, and that's why Girls On Shred has been doing their thing for over ten years now.
Girls On Shred is based in Missoula, but this week, they're hitting the road, hosting a variety of different clinics all across Montana. Over the course of six days, they're scheduled to hit nine stops. Here's the full schedule:
August 9th - Lincoln, from 11 AM to 2 PM
August 9th - Great Falls, from 6 PM to 8 PM
August 10th - Big Sandy, from noon to 3 PM
August 11th - Box Elder, from 11 AM to 3:30 PM
August 12th - Malta, from noon to 3 PM
August 12th - Havre, from 6 PM to 8 PM
August 13th - Shelby, from noon to 2 PM
August 13th - Browning, from 4 PM to 6 PM
August 14th - Whitefish, from noon to 3 PM
They'll have equipment and gear that you can borrow at each of these events, meaning all you need to do to participate is show up.
Girls On Shred is also planning to do some fundraising in the months ahead, so be on the lookout for that in the future.
If you're in the area, think you'll be checking out any of these events?
